JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Our client is urgently looking for the qualified Cook to start working ASAP.
KEY REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate must meet the following qualifications:
- Must have Matric
- Relevant qualification
KEY REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
The candidate must have the following skills and competences
- Must be independent worker
- Must be able to communicate clearly with managers and kitchen personnel
- Must have Customer focused
- Must have ability to effectively multitask
- Must have attention to details
- Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
- Must have 2 – 4 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
KEY DUTIES:
The candidate will have to implement the following duties:
- To take customer orders and preparing food to their specifications
- To prepare and cook meats, fish, vegetables, gravies, cereals, soups, fruits, bakery products and other forms of food
- To prepare and cooks food for special diets from recipes formulated by qualified personnel
- To assist in on-the-job training and assist in directing the work of food service workers, students and other employees within area of assignment
- Planning and managing work orders to ensure all items of an order are finished and served at the same time
- To assist in the preparation of salads and desserts
- Grilling, cooking, and frying foods
- Notifies supervisor of food and supplies needed. Checks in food and supplies as necessary
- To maintain food production records
- Cleans kitchen, kitchen utensils and equipment; secures refrigerator and freezer
- Serves food as required. Maintains maximum standards of sanitation and safety
- Promptly reports equipment and food quality to kitchen manager
- To use our Standardized Recipe Card for preparing all products
- Must be able to do shift work – including weekends and night-shift
- Must be able lift heavy equipment
