JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Our client is urgently looking for the qualified Fitter to start working ASAP.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The applicant wishing to apply for this job must meet the following qualifications;
- Must have N3 Mechanical Engineering plus qualified Fitter/Fitter & Turner
- Must have 5 years post qualification experience
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
The applicant must have the following skills and competences
- Must have basic Electrical experience will be an advantage
- Must have knowledge in milling and packaging equipment (Buhler packers and equipment, Fawema, New Tech palletizers)
- Must have knowledge of setting up ink printers, glueing application and metal detectors
- Must have precision maintenance and machine center line setups for change overs
- Must have ability to communicate on all levels
- Must have ability to work systematically.
- Must have ability to prioritize workload.
- Report writing and analysis – Understanding of RCA’s (5 x why’s, fishbone)
- Mentoring apprentices and coach operators
- Must be able to work shifts of required and be available on callouts and standby.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will have to implement the following duties but not limited to:
- To perform routine preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs, to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of the machines do not deteriorate.
- To inspect drives, motors, belts, bearings, setup machine timings and perform other maintenance actions following detailed CMMS asset plans.
- To be able to comply with Food safety standards, and previous FMCG experience will be an advantage
- To be able to comply with OHS safety standards, permits and lockout procedures LOTOTO
- Repairs outside of packing (Buhler roll changes, product transfer equipment and other mechanical repairs)
- To assemble, install and / or repair, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment on compressed air and waterlines
- To diagnose and correct mechanical problems.
- To inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
- To direct and train workers to install, maintain, mechanical equipment.
- To record maintenance and repair work performed.
- To clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- To finale applicants will be sent for a pre-approval assessment
