JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Our client is urgently looking for the qualified Fitter and Turner to start working ASAP.
KEY REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate must meet the following qualifications:
- Must have Grade 12 National Senior Certificate/ N3 or N4 in fitting and turning
- Trade test fitter and turner
- Must have 2 years post apprenticeship experience related to fitting and turning
- Must have a valid driver’s license with the ability to pass the RW K53 test
KEY REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
The candidate must have the following skills and competences
- Operation of field mechanical equipment
- Water purification and treatment process
- Must have knowledge of the OHS act and its application
- Must have communication skills (verbal and written)
- Must have analytical skills to do fault finding and problem solving
- Root Cause analysis
- Reliability centered maintenance
- Must have administrative skills
- Must be self-motivated and team player.
- Safety conscious.
- Must be performance driven.
- Customer service orientation.
KEY DUTIES:
The candidate will have to implement the following duties:
- To perform all daily, monthly and annually scheduled maintenance tasks.
- To investigate and repair all breakdowns.
- To work overtime when required.
- To manage allocated section of the plant.
- To maintain work standard and ensure legal and safety compliance.
- To provide inputs and execute Plant improvements and modifications.
- To perform standby duties when required.
- To plan tasks to ensure that all materials tools, assistant, transport and equipments are available.
- To assist Head Office personnel and contractors for all work done to perform their jobs effectively and safely (i.e isolate, test, coordinate work)
- To provide on the job training to new personnel, assistants and apprentices.
- To perform performance testing on equipment after overhauls and big maintenance.
- To complete all schedules, work instructions, timesheets and defects.
- To coordinate projects.
