The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the list of candidates invited for interviews who applied for the permanent voter registration in 2024 for the 2025 General Election. According to INEC Director Ramadhan Kailima, the Permanent Voter Register update began on July 20, 2024, and is expected to be completed by April 2025. The commission aims to register 5.6 million new voters and update the details of 4.4 million existing voters. Registration is taking place at 40,126 centers nationwide, with 39,709 in mainland Tanzania and 417 in Zanzibar.
